Why Lewis Hamilton is thrilled by Russell's first win at Sao Paulo.

Even though Lewis Hamilton has struggled for much of the season with his Mercedes car compared to both the Ferrari and Red Bull teams. All that pains pales into insignificance after the win for George Russell in the Sprint race at the Brazil Grand Prix which has given him a sense of hope for Sunday's full events.

This is also George Russell's first major win.

It's kind of intriguing how Brazil has become a good stumping ground for Hamilton who was born and bred in Stevenage, yet he is now an honorary Brazilian citizen. F1's seven-time world champion no doubt will treasure his relationship with the Brazilian people, the reason why it's another homecoming at the Interlagos track where he has produced arguably his greatest on-track moments.
