To worsen the whole conundrum, Atletico Madrid ended bottom of the group and couldn't achieve a face saving Europa league slot after finishing bottom of their group which has put his future at Wanda Metropolitano in doubt.
For Someone who is the most expensive manager in the world which the club pays through income from the champions league, this early elimination is more painful because they will be no Europa league earning to fall on.
For all that he has achieved as manager if Atletico Madrid, this latest set back will obviously be very painful, he said at a press last Friday that he doesn't care what people about him, but how about the fans who so pained? Especially when the group seems very easy on paper?
