As Goncalo Ramos scored a world cup hat-trick on his first start to help his country (Portugal) annihilate Switzerland on Tuesday. A result which also sent them into the quarter-finals for the first time in 16 years which also set up a clash with Spain's conqueror (Morocco).
It is also a dawn of a new beginning for the Portuguese National team who has been limited by the big and overbearing ego of Cristiano Ronaldo who for years has been his country's main protagonist.
It's so amazing that a player who had previously played only ten minutes as a substitute could play and behaved like one on the big stage with such a magnificent performance for Portugal who didn't miss Ronaldo who was benched., even though he came in late in the game.
For a very long time the Selecao of Portugal has been held back by an aging Ronaldo who at 37 is not getting younger, but his tantrum, attitude and performance leaves much to be desired.
Even his manager was less pleased with him after he sulked on been substituted against South Korea.
What a fresh breathe that Ramos at 21 has brought in to a side that needs it fervently.
