Anything involving US and Iran is always a big issue because it's not going to be easy because of the age long war of attrition between both countries. So, the match in the ongoing world cup in Qatar won't be an exception. Perhaps a little recourse to history will make our readers understand more.
A brief history;

Ever since then, it's been a war of attrition and accusation from USA of Iran sponsoring terrorist organization all over the globe and targeting US citizens and interest.
When Iran defeated US at the world cup in France 1998, it felt like the Iranians have won the world cup.
