Qatar 2022: MESSI'S time to attain immortality.

Certain chance or opportunity don't come twice, that's why certain phrases are used to describe or sum up Lionel Messi likely final appearance in the World Cup.

Having featured in 2006 (Germany), 2010 (South Africa),  2014 (Brazil), 2018 (Russia) and 2022 in Qatar. This maybe his very last appearance  if he manages to win the cup with Argentina.

Lionel Messi has won laurels with teams and personal awards that football has got to offer, nevertheless, the World Cup trophy which is the  ultimate diadem has eluded him before now.

Qatar 2022 has provided him the opportunity to make history and join the exclusive list of immortals like Argentine World Cup winners like Mario Kempes, Diego Maradona, Claudio Caniggia, Jorge Valdano, and Daniel Passarella among others.

MESSI'S achievement and  standards have surpassed that of those ex-internationals judging by his club football success...but international football especially the World Cup has eluded him of the glory of Hall of Fame in Argentina.

The day of reckoning is finally here  for the seven-time Balon d'Or winner to win the World Cup, having also won the Copa America after four attempts in the final.

Having retired from International before then returned due to pressure from his countrymen. This obviously is his swansong and what an opportunity to attain immortality.

Winning the final in Qatar 2022 will also settle the career rift and debate among fans and those of Cristiano Ronaldo on who is the greatest player of all time.
