Less than a season into his tenure, Thiago Motta has been sacked as head coach of Juventus with a replacement lined quickly in the person of Igor Tudor.

A nightmare run of results by Juventus as they crashed out of the Champions League, Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana this season, and recently suffered a 4-0 humbling at the hands of title contenders Atalanta, which was their heaviest home defeat since 1967 have led to his dismissal of Motta, 42 by the club's hierarchy on Sunday.

A 3-0 loss at eighth-placed Fiorentina, left the Old Lady in fifth, one point adrift of fourth which was also Motta's last match at the helm and led to an awkward confrontation over lunch on Tuesday. as he was reportedly told by director Cristiano Giuntoli how he was 'ashamed' of chosen him for the job.

For Tudor whose last managerial role was at Serie A rivals Lazio, he will take charge for the rest of the season with Champions League qualification very crucial in determining whether his deal will be extended. His first training session will be on Monday..
