Lukaku's regret for Chelsea and Inter Milan.

What was initially seen as a big regret by Chelsea by quickly sending Romelu Lukaku on loan back to Inter Milan this summer is turning to a sign of relief. After re-signing Chelsea in the summer of 2021 for £97.5million him making the seventh-most expensive transfer of all time, however the Belgian striker endured a disappointing season, scoring only eight league goals.

The Belgian bomber with 103-cap international has only played 256 minutes of competitive football since returning to the Nerazzurri as the club's medical staff are believed to be shocked and alarmed at the vulnerability of his previously strong physical condition which is a far cry from the player who had a magnificent two-year spell from 2019-2021 at Guiseppe Meazza netting 64 goals in 95 games for Inter which was what persuaded Chelsea to part with nearly nine figures for his signature.

Lukaku''s struggles at the San Siro this season is well documented as persistent injury problems have limited him to just five games in all competitions, yielding two goals.

Lukaku touched the ball three times and failed to record a single shot in the damaging loss to Morocco at the ongoing World Cup in Qatar the other day in a 10-minute cameo for Roberto Martinez' men on Sunday,
