For a man who attained greatness early in life as a teenager and was even sarcastically called the called the Youngest Millionaire following the

success of the then Green Eagles in the 1980 Nation's cup where he shone like a million star, and also being the youngest at the time (he was 18 years of age), it sure should be a bitter pill to swallow for diminutive Henry Nwosu MON as he now has to seek for spirited Nigerians for assistance because he has been hospitalised and receiving treatment for a heart-related ailment which obviously needs a higher level of medical

He was a born leader on the pitch, as he packed power in both feet. Good dribbler but prefer to play for the team instead of personal glory.

Having served the Nation meritoriously coupled with the fact that he has exhausted his personal financial resources, his matter has been brought to the public domain by some concerned friends, appealing for financial support for one of Nigeria's true heroes.

Even though some Nigerians are already responding by making financial commitments and donations, his situation once again reminds us all about the vexed issue of the welfare of retired athletes.

Nigeria has no permanent solution yet, not even the intervention by the minister of Sport, Sunday Dare has done much because the Sport space is littered with athletes going through hell.
