From Ituano to the World: the story of Arsenal's Brazilian duracell.

From Brazil's football fourth tier Ituano just over three years ago to Arsenal in England, Gabriel Martinelli has become one of the youngest football prospect in the world. Such is his rapid rise that he has been included in the Brazilian team heading to Qatar World Cup 2022.

Four years ago when Brazil was knocked out of the World Cup by Belgium, Martinelli was plying his trade as a 17-year-old prospect in Brazil's Serie D.

What a growth and astonishing ascent because after swapping Ituano for Arsenal, he is now set to put on the famous yellow shirts of Brazil at the grandest stage.

The young lad who once played futsal for corinthian joined ituano in 2015 where he registered 10 goals in 34 matches which caught the attention of top European clubs, yet it was Arsenal who secured his signature.

Everyone was expecting an 18 year old from Brazil's lower rung to start first with the academy and reserves, but all that changed when Martinelli showcased his speed, intelligence and tenacity which was enough for the them manager, Unai Emery to keep him as part of his first team plan that year.
