Emery's magic: as Villa crushed toothless United.


All the new Spanish manager needed was just four training sessions, which was enough to produced a plan that Manchester United could not have an answer for, a great triumph for a coach with great tactical intelligence and attention to detail which has yielded 11 major trophies.

From been an outcast couple of weeks ago, Ronaldo was given the armband with Bruno Fernandes suspended and Harry Maguire on the bench, still nothing went right for him as he headed his only chance too close to Emiliano Martinez and might have been sent off for wrestling Tyrone Mings to the floor in the second half.


Signifanctly, it was Eighteen months ago that Emery led Villarreal to beat Manchester United on penalties to win the Europa League, the Spaniard always have a way of giving them bloody nose.
