Eddie Howe roars: the players were in need of a coach and a helper before I came.

When you see like Miguel Almiron and the improvement he has made of late, after scoring six goals in as many games and looks certain to win the Premier League Player of the Month for October. Amazingly, this was the same player who was restricted by the previous regime.

So you can't but agree with Eddie Howe when he said what the players need prior to his arrival at Newcastle was a coach and a helper because the players were so low in confidence. To some this is an apparent dig at former Manager Steve Bruce who had a very difficult spell as News castle manager before been fired.

Newcastle are fourth in the Premier League, just a year after Eddie Howe's arrival with six of the 10 outfield starters in recent weeks having been at the club pre-takeover. Ten in total during last Saturday's 4-0 victory Aston Villa were part of the side who were bottom of the table this time last year.

Speaking further Eddie Howe said, said; I had that belief internally that we have some really good players, my first impressions was that of a willing group that wanted to be coached, that wanted help, which was a really good starting point because I love coaching players and trying to improve them.

Where we are today is a product of hard work and brilliant performances from the players, just doing the best we can, we didn't buy it.
