Morocco made Africa proud by following in the footstep of Senegal as they qualified for the World Cup knockout stages for the first time since 1986 after a 2-1 win over North American team Canada who ended their World cup sojourn pointless even though the story of their World Cup will be their lack of efficiency in front of goal. Victory ensured their passage out of Group F and into the Round of Sixteen as group winners thereby becoming the second African side to qualify after Senegal.
A win was all the North African needed and Morocco came into the final Matchday of Group F and secured it in emphatic fashion because it didn’t take long for the Al Thumama Stadium to erupt as the Atlas Lions went in front in the fourth minute as Canadian goalkeeper Milan Borjan made a hash of a simple back pass with his heavy touch leaving him in no man's land as Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech on hand from thirty yards to delicately lift the ball over the luckless Borjan into an empty net.
Morocco with their fate in their own hands did n't wait for anything to do them any favour so they churn out a comprehensive performance which has made them a surprised package in Qatar after drawing against 2018 finalists Croatia and then beating Belgium in their previous fixture.
